The Story of Blake McMeans
Blake Turns Personal Tragedy into a Positive Message
Every time Blake McMeans begins one of his many public speeches, he gets up from his wheelchair, goes over to the podium and stands. Sometimes the process takes five minutes, other times less. When he’s settled—with his caregiver, Tony, by his side—he starts his talk the way he starts all his talks.
Blake was once one of the Nation’s Top Ranked Tennis Player’s, until one destructive decision changed his life forever.
The Blake McMeans Foundation exists to educate people on the dangers of Drinking & Driving, and the importance of making Good Decisions. Blake shares his message with various Schools & Organizations in hopes of preventing someone else from making destructive decisions.
Evening of Promise and Patrons Party
Every year, the Blake McMeans Foundation hosts its annual Patrons Party and Evening of Promise events to raise funds for the foundation. Proceeds from these events help Blake speak to schools and organizations throughout the Southeast about the dangers of drinking and distracted driving, as well as help to offer our Scholarship to a Local Student-Athlete. These evening events are compete with food, drinks, friends, musical entertainment and an address by Blake McMeans himself.
